Start date in January as agreed. You will begin with an introductory schedule before getting your own schedule.

We can be somewhat flexible with the working hours if you wish.

Please write any requests in your application. The position involves a varied schedule. The schedule includes 2-3 awake night shifts per month. You should be well aware of what it means to work awake nights.

Unfortunately, I cannot employ anyone who is allergic to pets or uses tobacco. This includes substitutes such as white snus and e-cigarettes.

It is about as difficult for me to briefly summarize this position as I believe it is for you to make a complete presentation of yourself in a letter. This is because the role of a personal assistant is based on the person’s life, and as you hopefully understand, my life is as diverse as yours. Still, I will try to explain who I and my friends/assistants are looking for...

To begin with, my assistants have the following working hours: Full days 08:00-20:00, morning shifts 5–7 hours, and afternoon shifts 5–6 hours. The awake night shifts are 12 hours, 20:00-08:00. It is therefore important that you have a good understanding and insight into what this entails. You should find it easy to turn your day around and be able to sleep during the day to come to me fresh and rested in the evening. I am thus dependent on my assistants around the clock even if you never work full shifts. If you do not have previous experience with night work, you are of course welcome to apply, just remember that a night job does not mean that your day gets 24 hours. Rest, sleep, and recovery are very important when working nights.

The introduction starts with day shifts even if your schedule includes both night and day shifts. This way, we get to know each other properly, and you learn as much as possible about my life. It is also nice and important for you to get to know my other friends/assistants. Everyone should be able to collaborate.

You who are applying should be self-sufficient and confident in yourself. You must speak Swedish fluently in both speech and writing, and you should also be able to swim. We also expect that you can handle regular household chores and can help and support me in my daily life.

It is not a requirement that you have previous experience as a personal assistant, although it is considered an advantage. Your attitude and understanding of the profession and what it means to be my personal assistant are the most important. A position as my personal assistant involves, among other things, commitment, self-drive, great patience, a friendly demeanor, flexibility, and good teamwork skills. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Developing a relationship does not happen overnight, so I am looking for someone who truly wants to do their best for me by getting to know me and understands that this is the key to success.

It may sound harsh, but my requirement is that you who are applying are driven and responsible but also come with your own initiatives regardless of my daily condition. It can vary greatly how much I can handle due to my severe epilepsy, and you should therefore be able to take your own initiatives and be flexible when plans need to change. My interests vary a bit depending on the season. In the summer, I love swimming in my pool; it is truly a favorite. I also enjoy everything from cooking & running with my marathon wheelchair to museums, concerts, and the gym to give you some clues.

A position as a personal assistant is varied, but with me, you can think that your role consists of three parts;

1. You help me with all basic needs with great respect for integrity and dignity.

2. You are my physical support which means it is an advantage for you if you care about your health and enjoy exercising in your free time.

3. You are my engine in everyday life and together with your colleague are responsible for planning activities and routines.

These three parts of your professional role should be permeated by being my friend because that is how the collaboration in my group works best and how I want to be treated. I turned 20 a few years ago. My group of friends is therefore quite young, they are all in their 20s and 30s (20-30 years). My life swings quickly, so my friends always need to be well-rested, patient, and willing to give of themselves regardless of the conditions I have or obstacles I encounter in everyday life. They are my friends and see me for who I am behind my difficulties, and I want to complement with you who think the same way and do not see me as your patient. I require a high work ethic, which for you as an applicant means that you are reliable and treat me, your colleagues, and your profession with respect. You are also kind and calm and understand that your contribution is vital for me; your understanding of flexibility and variation in my life creates the best conditions for both of us. Finally, and perhaps most importantly; you need to have a very large understanding that my life is different and comes with various challenges.
